Kaddish, the most often recited prayer in the Jewish liturgy is a plea for world peace. Typically associated with mourning, the Kaddish is used as a moment of reflection at any transition ranging from the end of studying one tract and the beginning of the next, to the passage from life to death. Pause is a musical commentary on Salomone Rossi 1622 setting of the Kaddish.
The work was written for, and is dedicated to the Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings.
